The wonderful thing about reading is that you can do it anywhere. It doesn’t matter if you prefer a physical book, or an e-reader, the story is always with you.
I believe there is no more important skill a person can learn than reading. Without it you are captive to what others tell you and your prospects are less than they could be. More than that is the joy of escaping to other worlds through words, or the freedom to teach yourself what you want to learn.
I know there are people who don’t enjoy reading and for whom reading is difficult. They can still enjoy the oral tradition by listening to books on tape, just as the blind enjoy Braille books. No one need be held back from the joy of story.
People vary greatly on the type of story they like, but with so many categories of books, everyone should be able to discover something they love.
This blog on reading will discuss books I have read and enjoyed in hopes that others may as well. I will offer up a variety, as I have every eclectic tastes and was a librarian for all ages of readers. And if a topic related to reading grabs my attention, you will find it here too.
