I live in the “misty, moisty” Pacific Northwest. My trusty umbrella and I do a lot of traveling together.
It’s unfortunately true that we average only 58 sunny days a year. The rest of the time we live with cloudy or partly cloudy skies and rain falling on 155 of those days. It’s not the rain that gets to me as much as the gray skies and damp cold. I would prefer to live in a place with sun where I didn’t need an umbrella, coat, or shoes, but alas friends and family keep me here.
I’ve had a varied work life as a teacher and librarian. Now I take writing classes and workshop with author Brenda Peterson. I’ve blogged in the Huffington Post and been published in The Chinook, the newsletter of my local chapter of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
I love reading, writing, history, gardens, and travel. I’m passionate about learning. One of my comfort foods is hot, buttery popcorn. I enjoy my friends, family, and the extensive writing community in the Seattle area.
I dream about publishing a book, traveling the world, and living where the sun shines every day.
The sun shines in Saint George, Utah about 300 days a year. In July and August the high is usually between 105-110 degrees F.
I do get tired of the rain, but I know I can’t take that kind of heat. It is beautiful country. I’ve been to Arches National Park.
